Soup of the Day:  Late Summer Minestrone from the Hull-House Farm

We’re baaaaack!  After a month-long hiatus, Re-Thinking Soup kicks back in gear with the 2009-2010 season on Tuesday, August 25th.  We are excited to have Joshua Viertel, Slow Food USA’s first-ever President, as our special guest for our Town Hall discussion.  He will speak briefly about Slow Food USA’s mission and advocacy on issues of food justice, access, and sustainability followed by a discussion and Q&A with the community.  The Hull-House Museum invites all food activists, farmers, chefs, environmentalists, and anyone interested in food justice to come and share their ideas, questions, and concerns with us and Slow Food USA.

Joshua shared some of his insights and ambitions for Slow Food USA in an interview with Gourmet magazine.  To read the article, click here.

We are so pleased to have Joshua Viertel join us.  The Hull-House Museum will be his only speaking engagement while in Chicago, so don’t miss this exciting conversation!
